What is Atheema ?

Atheema is an event series

created by Kotinos in partnership with the Saudi Ministry of Sports, dedicated to elevating the role of females in the sports ecosystem across the MENA region.

Emerging at a transformative moment in regional history, Atheema is conceived as the premier platform for convening elite athletes, policymakers, industry leaders, and cultural voices to celebrate achievements, address barriers, and co-create actionable pathways for women’s leadership in sport.

Anchored in the region’s rich cultural heritage, this initiative seeks to embed female representation into the core of policy, media, education, and business systems.
Why Atheema is an Important Event Series

Women’s sport in the MENA region stands at a critical inflection point

Despite remarkable progress, systemic barriers remain—from underrepresentation in governance to limited investment and uneven cultural acceptance.

Atheema is designed to meet this moment. It is a strategic platform that reframes women’s sports as a driver of socio-economic transformation, convening influential voices to challenge norms, highlight progress, and generate solutions.

By fostering genuine cross-sector dialogue, Atheema aims to position female athletes as more than participants but as leaders and catalysts for regional development.
